WHO ARE WE?
What are we doing?
Summer 2014, from May to June, we will be roadtripping across the United States together with our minds ready to learn and our hands ready to help. We plan to volunteer in various locations with different organizations supporting children & youth and families as a way to contribute to the communities we visit.
We are naming our trip The Kerouac Crusade, inspired by Jack Kerouac (one of the greatest American writers of the 20th century) and his travels with his friends across America as depicted in his novel, "On the Road." During TKC, we will be traveling to about 15 states over the span of 30 days and volunteering with the following organizations (list is subject to change as we confirm volunteer registration and event/activity dates with each org):
- Accokeek Foundation
- Clean the World
- Climate Cycle
- Cradles to Crayons
- Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
- Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina
- Second Harvest Food Bank
- Urban Roots
