As our adventure draws to a close, all the driving and excitement may have finally caught up to us since we slept in until late this morning. But hey, it's Vegas, all the fun festivities happen at night right?
As we lazily got ready for the pool, Riks noticed that water didn't come out of the sink or shower of our bathroom! We also noticed that our portable cooler had a hole somewhere, which resulted in a wet floor. We had to maneuver around the slippery floor, for a wrong step may have been fatal. We may or may not be exaggerating... On top of that, Nics accidently spilled a tumbler full of water and ice cubes. She didn't bother drying up the area since it was already Atlantis Part II up in our room. After an hour of calling guest services and room service trying to get water pumping in our room, it started working again and we finally went downstairs to the hotel pool.
Boy, we did not expect to see so many mammals in the water. All the beach chairs were taken so we sat right at the edge of the pool. It was a hot day so it wasn't long before we were wading in the water. We stayed for over an hour and left to return to our room to get ready for Mac King's Comedy Magic Show, for which we received complimentary tickets to since we're staying at Harrah's. After we were seated, we got a strawberry daiquiri and a piña colada. The show was pretty awesome, and the delicious drinks made it better. We would definitely recommend Mac King's show, he's voted #1 for afternoon shows. It's a great event to attend to pass the afternoon.
After the show, we strolled around Vegas and stopped at a souvenir shop (for our Crusaders, as usual!). We also went shoe shopping and by the time we were done with that, we were starving! We didn't waste any time catching a cab to our dinner destination, Holstein's, at The Cosmopolitan. This place is a unique burger and milkshake place and it is amazing! Did we mention they make alcoholic milkshakes? We shared the Crème Brûlée Caramel Milkshake, and it was the perfect sweet treat to combat the hot 100°F+ weather! There were caramel candy bits mixed into the creamy concoction, which made it even more irresistable. We both ordered the Rising Sun Burger, which was made with Kobe beef glazed in teriyaki sauce with avocado tempura between two ginormous buns. It was such a satisfying meal. So satisfying we could only finish half. We basically KO'ed on food after that. We walked back to our hotel and failed at trying to walk off the food we ate.
We still felt so stuffed even after arriving to our room, so it took us a while to be motivated to get ready to go out. We somehow managed to do so after lounging around for a bit, and we headed for Light Nightclub in Mandalay Bay. The club is an amazing venue and is the "first-ever nightclub turned on by the creative minds behind Cirque du Soleil." It had acrobatic performers doing some amazing performances throughout the night. Although it was pretty crowded, we had a great time dancing and watching the performances.
On our way back to our room, we stopped by Numb Bar and got a frozen drink mixed with two flavors, Purple Haze and Comfortably Numb. It was delicious! It tasted like Skittles and we got a cool souvenir cup.
After filling our bathtub to capacity and sitting in to relax our tired muscles, we've finally decided it a night. We're glad the water is pumping back into our room.
Tomorrow will be our homecoming! It's unbelievable that The Kerouac Crusade is really reaching its end. The month flew by WAY too quickly.
