This post is overdue (but it's dated for yesterday for archival purposes), but once we got into Iowa, our wonderful hosts, George and Lana, kept us so busy that we didn't get a chance to blog. As I (Riks) recollects yesterday's events, we're on the road headed towards Illinois (Nics is driving).
We said goodbye to Yoko and her Mama at 7:00AM, and after a nice last breakfast with Takumi at the Pancake House (which, believe it or not, is on Pancake Ave.), we hit the road to Iowa.

The most exciting event that happened on the road was when two deer decided to prance across the highway. Yes, deer crossings are a real thing. Oh, and we stopped at a McDonald's in Missouri. Haha. That's about it. What was really beautiful was getting to see the sunset as we drove into Iowa.
The minute we pulled into our hosts' driveway 12 hours later, we were sucked in a whirlwind of entertaining activities. George and Lana took us out to a local restaurant called Happy Joe's where Nics and I ate our very first (and tasty) taco supreme pizza. Imagine a taco and and a pizza combined into a wonderful fusion of flavors and textures. Once we got back to their home, instead of blogging, we watched Captain America with them on their huge flatscreen with incredible surround sound. What a great movie, and Chris Evans wasn't bad eye candy either. :P What a way to wrap up the night.
Thanks to those of you who are following along with us! We'll keep you posted as we trek on!
